BASIC SWIMMING AND LIFESAVING COURSE NO 28 SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED

The Basic Swimming and Lifesaving Course No 28 was successfully conducted at the 21 Infantry Division Headquarters swimming pool complex from 27 April 2026 to 04 June 2026. After completing 30 training days. The course was conducted with the participation of 28 Other Rank soldiers representing various units under the Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) AOR.

The certificate-awarding ceremony was held in accordance with military traditions, took place on 24 June 2026 at the 21 Infantry Division swimming pool premises. Major General T.N.K Perera, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 21 Infantry Division, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

S/536018 Pte Dissanayake R M R W of the 8 Battalion, Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, was honored as the Best Student of the course.

A significant highlight of this course was the awarding of all three internationally recognized certifications by Sri Lanka Life Saving (SLLS): the International Lifesaving Certificate, the Water Safety Certificate, and the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate.
