Blood transfusion centers play a crucial role in maintaining reserves for emergency transfusions needed by patients undergoing treatment for various illnesses and injuries, including those from traffic accidents. Due to a current shortage in these reserves, a request was made to the Army Hospital to encourage Army personnel to participate in blood donation drives to help replenish supplies.
Under the leadership and guidance of General Officer Commanding 14 Infantry Division, Major General K. J. N. M. P. K. Nawarathna RWP RSP ndu, a blood donation campaign was successfully conducted on 29 April 2025 at the Apeksha Hospital, Maharagama with the participation of officers/other ranks and civil servants serving in the Infantry Brigades and Battalions under the command.
