16 BATTALION THE GAJABA REGIMENT TAKES LEAD IN DECISIVE JOINT OPERATION SAFEGUARDING LAKVIJAYA PLANT- NOROCHCHOLAI

01 x 25 troops from the 16 Battalion the Gajaba Regiment, participated in a Joint Operation conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy on 2024.01.11. The operation was conducted with the guidance of Commander Security Force (West) and the supervision of the General Officer Commanding 14 Infantry Division.

The initiative, carried out with supervision and participation of the Commander 143 Infantry Brigade, along with the Commanding Officer of the 16 Battalion the Gajaba Regiment, aimed at ensuring heightened security measures for the Lakvijaya Thermal Power Plant.

Additionally, the deployed troops executed exercise to fortify the security of the Northern power plant, engaging in cordon search operations in collaboration with the Police.
