On 3 December 2025, one Officer and ten Other Ranks from the 6 Sri Lanka Artillery, under the 141 Infantry Brigade, provided essential assistance in clearing the Pannala bridge area. Their efforts were focused on ensuring the natural flow of the Maha Oya, which had been obstructed due to debris caused by recent adverse weather. The timely support of the troops helped reduce further flood risks and facilitated smoother water movement.
