In response to a request made by Siri Perakumba Maha Vidyalaya located at Lunugama, Dompe, Army personnel of the 8 Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry under the 141 Infantry Brigade of the 14 Infantry Infantry Division extended their support to the training of students for the sports meet parade as well as provided referees to the school in order to judge the sports events from 24 February to 02 March 2023.
As per the directions by the Commander, Security Forces (West) and the General Officer Commanding, 14 Infantry Division, Army personnel prepared students for ground formalities and gave them training in marching, etc required for the parade.
The Commander, 141 Infantry Brigade along with the Commanding Officer of 8 Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry closely monitored the Army’s involvement.
