8 SLLI Troops Rescue Five Flood-Affected Women in Kottunna

At 1500 hrs on 29 November 2025, troops of the 8 Sri Lanka Light Infantry carried out a swift rescue operation in Kottunna, safely evacuating five flood-affected women, including three Chinese nationals. The timely intervention of the troops ensured the protection and well-being of all individuals as rising floodwaters posed increasing danger in the area.
