Troops of 8 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (8 SLSR) of the 583 Brigade Division of the SFHQ (West) on 13 May 2018 gave their timely assistance to removing the huge “Bo” tree which has been fallen down to the line of houses of estate workers at Atalawatta, Pindeniya in Kegalle district.
Heavy rain and the strong winds were badly affected to the areas of Beragala in Kegalle district and it was causing to injured 2 children and damaged lots of houses in the area.
The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) and Galigamuwa Divisional Secretariat could be able to evacuate 11 families and resettled them nearby school.
