On the occasion of the 100th anniversary celebration of Matara Rahula College, an educational exhibition named 'Vidyabhimani 2023' was held in the school premises on 25, 26 and 27 April 2023, under the patronage of the president of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Accordingly, as per the request of the school authorities, Army personnel also established several exhibition stalls in order to enhance the students' knowledge and awareness regarding the armored vehicles and other equipment used in the Sri Lanka Army's present-day context.
Meanwhile, prior to the exhibition, Army personnel from 3 (v) Battalion Gemunu Watch of 613 Infantry Brigade also contributed their assistance to the successful training of the drill parade that was offered to the President by the schoolchildren, providing Drill Instructors.
Further, the Army's involvement in this exhibition was guided by the General Officer Commanding, 61 Infantry Division, under the instructions of the Commander Security Forces (West).
