Sri Lanka Army troops continued their humanitarian assistance missions across flood-affected regions, extending vital relief to affected families on 03 December 2025.
According to the instructions of the Security Forces Commander (West) and under the close supervision and coordination of the General Officer Commanding 57 Infantry Division,Commander 571 Infantry Brigade together with the participation of the Commander - 571 Infantry Brigade and troops of the 57 Infantry Division, a total of 160 dry ration packets were distributed to displaced and affected civilians in the Maeliya area of Ibbagamuwa and several locations in the Kegalle District.
The dry ration packs were generously donated by the China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd, enabling troops to extend essential support to vulnerable families in need.This relief effort forms part of the Army’s ongoing disaster-response operations across the island, aimed at supporting communities impacted by severe weather conditions. Troops ensured that essential supplies reached vulnerable families, with special attention given to elderly individuals, women, and children currently sheltered in temporary accommodation facilities.
The Sri Lanka Army remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering immediate humanitarian assistance and strengthening national disaster-management efforts in collaboration with local authorities.
