In celebration of the sacred Vesak season, a Bath Dansala was organized at the Bauddhaloka Mawatha Vesak Region, offering meals to thousands of devotees and visitors who came to witness the spiritual and cultural events along the beautifully decorated streets.
This meritorious initiative was closely supervised by the Project Officer of Security Forces Headquarters (West), Brigadier A S P Jayampathi USP, ensuring the event was conducted in a well-coordinated and disciplined manner.
The troops of the 1 Sri Lanka General Service Corps and 4 Sri Lanka General Service Corps played a vital role in organizing and running the Dansala. Their hard work and commitment, along with civil support, brought this generous act to life, reinforcing the spirit of dāna (giving) that lies at the heart of Vesak.
With warm meals served to large crowds throughout the night, the Dansala became a symbol of compassion, selflessness, and unity—values deeply rooted in Buddhist teachings and Sri Lankan tradition.
The success of this event highlights the harmonious collaboration between the Sri Lanka Army and the civilian community, as they came together to honor the Vesak festival through acts of kindness and service.
Such contributions continue to enrich the cultural fabric of Sri Lanka, reminding all of the importance of working together for the common good.
