As part of a community support initiative, troops from the 9th Sri Lanka National Guard took part in a large-scale cleaning project at Makulana Rajamaha Viharaya. The project was carried out over three days 08, 09, and 10 May 2025 and involved cleaning and restoring approximately five acres of temple grounds.
The effort was conducted under the supervision of senior military officers, reflecting the Sri Lanka Army’s commitment to supporting religious and community institutions.
The Army’s contribution of manpower and resources played a key role in preserving the temple’s environment, which holds significant cultural and religious value for the local community. The Chief Incumbent of the temple, along with area residents, expressed sincere gratitude to the troops for their voluntary service and valuable support in making the project a success.
