COMMANDER SECURITY FORCES (WEST) PAID A COURTESY VISIT TO 142 INFANTRY BRIGADE

Major General K Liyanage RWP RSP ndu duties as the 12th Commander, Security Forces (West), made his formal field visit to 142 Infantry Brigade Headquarters on 4 January 2022.

Upon his arrival to the 142 Infantry Brigade Headquarters, the Commander, Security Forces (West) was welcomed with a drive pass by the General Officer Commanding of 14 Infantry Division, Major General A K G K U Gnanarathne ndc psc together with the Commander 142 Infantry Brigade, Colonel H V A Somaweera RWP RSP USP, Commanding Officers belongs to 142 Infantry Brigade, sector Commanders and staff officers of 142 Infantry Brigade. Then, a comprehensive briefing on the role and tasks within the AOR was delivered by the Commander 142 Infantry Brigade and his staff officers. Similarly, the commander of the 142 Infantry Brigade presented a memento to the Commander, Security Forces (West) to mark the visit, and the Commander, Security Forces (West) did not forget to pen a complimentary remark in the visitors’ book before departure the 142 Infantry Brigade premises.

As per the day’s itinerary, the Commander who visited the 7 Battalion of Gamunu Watch located in Mattakkuliya was received by Lt Col S W R I de Silva RWP USP psc Lsc, Commanding Officer of 7 Battalion Gamunu Watch on arrival at the Battalion Headquarters. Commander Security Forces (West) was welcomed and greeted through a drive pass at the entrance in keeping with military traditions before he was ushered in. Thereafter, the Commander Security Forces (West) addressed the troops belonging to the 142 Infantry Brigade having a cordial discussion with all ranks.

On the way back, the Commander Security Forces (West) did not forget to pay a visit to the 14 Infantry Division, which is located at Vauxhall Street, Colombo and Commander Security Forces (West) shared a few thoughts with the staff officers of the 14 Infantry Division.

General Officer Commanding of 14 Infantry Division, Col (Coord) of 14 Infantry Division, Col GS of Security Forces Headquarters (West), Col AQ of Security Forces Headquarters (West) and several Senior Officers of Security Forces Headquarters (West) accompanied the Commander Security Forces (West) during the visit.
