COMMANDER SECURITY FORCES (WEST) PAID A FIELD VISIT TO 611 INFANTRY BRIGADE – KEGALLE

Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP, Commander Security Forces (West), made a field visit to 611 Infantry Brigade Headquarters and 8 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment located at Beragala - Kegalle on 05 September 2022.

The visiting Commander who was followed by a drive pass, was warmly welcomed by the Commander 611 Infantry Brigade and Commanding Officers under command to 611 Infantry Brigade at the location. Thereafter, a comprehensive briefing on role and tasks and the present situation of the respective AOR were done by the Brigade Commander with the participation of Commanding Officers.

Subsequently, addressing the troops, the West Commander stressed upon various aspects such as maintaining of high standard of discipline among the soldiers, performing entrusted duties with readiness, the importance of using social media responsibly, prevention of vehicle accidents and the Security of the camps. He has appreciated the commitment and the dedication of the soldiers to uplift the image of the Army.

Further, West Commander emphasized the necessity of improving the constant training which paves path to develop the soldiers’ co – competencies to develop the skills of performing multiple task, in order to face future security challenges of the nation. Thereafter, the Commander, Security Forces (West) was invited to plant a sapling in the camp premises to mark the his arrival.

During the camp visit, the Commander Security Forces (West) inspected the surrounding, welfare of the soldiers and several key places in the camp premises. Meanwhile, the West Commander interacted with the Officers and Other Ranks and he also instructed the responsible officers on how to maintain the camp and expand infrastructure facilities in the future.

Moreover, the West Commander also witnessed several locations for the proposed deployment of Security Forces (West) AOR, along with the General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division, Brigade Commander and Commanding Officers.

The General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division, Major General W R M M Rathnayaka RWP RSP USP ndu, Brigadier General Staff , Brigadier Admin and Quartering of Security Forces (West), Senior Officers and several Staff Officers accompanied the West Commander during the visit.
