COMMANDER SECURITY FORCES (WEST) PAID MAIDEN OFFICIAL VISIT TO 61 INFANTRY DIVISION AND ITS UNDER COMMAND BRIGADES AND BATTALIONS

Major General U D Wijesekera RWP RSP USP rcds psc, the Commander Security Forces (West), made a Two-day field visit covering 61 Infantry Division Headquarters and its under command Brigades and Battalions on 07th and 08th September 2023 respectively.

Subsequently, the visiting Commander who was honoured with a Guard Turnout at the 61 Infantry Division Headquarters in Boossa was warmly welcomed by the General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division, Brigade Commanders of 611, 612 and 613 Infantry Brigades and Commanding Officers under 611, 612 and 613 Infantry Brigades at their esteemed locations. Thereby, comprehensive briefings on role and tasks and the present situation of the respective AOR were done by General Officer Commanding and also the Brigade Commanders of respective Brigades with the participation of their Commanding Officers. Meanwhile, the Commander Security Forces (West) was invited to plant saplings in the respective camps’ premises to mark his arrival.

Addressing the troops during this two-day visit, the West Commander emphasized the importance of the discipline of the soldiers, man management, how to perform duties in this tense situation, the right way to use social media, prevention of vehicle accidents and the Security of the camps. As well as he appreciated the commitment of troops who rendered their potential service in the past and present scenarios.

The General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division, Major General R A J N Ranasighe RSP USP ndu , Brigadier General Staff, Brigadier Admin and Quartering) of Security Forces (West) and several Staff Officers of 61 Infantry Division accompanied the West Commander during the visit.
