Commander, Security Forces - West Major General DGS Senarathyapa RWP RSP ndu visited the 61 Infantry Division on Friday (09) after assuming duties.
Major General DG Heewage RSP, General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division welcomed the newly appointed West Commander in accordance with military formalities and after minutes, attended for a comprehensive briefing which described the respective AOR with the participation of Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and other Senior Officers.
Then, the Commander Security Forces (West) was invited to plant a sapling in the Headquarter premises to mark his visit and joined for a camp visit where the commander inspected the welfare of soldiers.
Along the way, Commander Security Forces (West) visited the Intermediate Care Center located in Ruhunu National College of Education in Akmeemana, and instructed to uplift the standard of the facilities.
The next stop of the day was the 613 Infantry Brigade and the Brigade Commander of the 613 Infantry Brigade Brigadier KAU Kodithuwakku RSP USP psc IG who welcomed the Commander Security Forces (West) comprehensively briefed on the security and other admin matters of the area.
Afterwards, The Commander Security Forces (West) inspected the Quarantine Center located in the Faculty of Agricultural University of Ruhuna in Mapalana, Mathara and subsequently, visited the 3 (V) Gamunu Watch as per the day’s itinerary.
Brigadier General Staff, Brigadier Admin and Quartering and Several Senior Officers of Security Forces Headquarters (West) accompanied the Commander during the visit.
