On 25 May 2026, Major General R. P. S. Prasad RWP RSP USP, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 57 Infantry Division, paid an official visit to the Headquarters of the 573 Infantry Brigade and the 1 Battalion of Sri Lanka National Guard. Upon arrival, the GOC was warmly welcomed by the Commander of the 573 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officers, Senior Officers, Officers, Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCOs), and Other Ranks. During the visit, the GOC addressed the troops and commended them for their dedication, discipline, and commitment displayed during operational and disaster relief duties carried out within the Area of Responsibility. He further emphasized the importance of maintaining operational readiness, professionalism, and teamwork among all ranks in order to effectively meet future challenges and responsibilities. The visit also provided an opportunity for the GOC to review the ongoing administrative and operational activities of the Brigade and the Battalion, while encouraging troops to continue performing their duties with commitment and high morale.
