On 09 June 2026 Major General R P S Prasad RWP RSP USP, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 57 Infantry Division, paid an official visit to the 7 (V) Battalion Gajaba Regiment at Madampe and its B Company located at Iranawila.
During the visit, the GOC reviewed the Battalion’s administrative and operational activities and observed the training programmes and combat readiness of the troops. Addressing all ranks, he commended their dedication, discipline, and commitment to duty. He further emphasized the importance of maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, operational preparedness, and teamwork in the discharge of their responsibilities.
The visit provided an opportunity for the GOC to interact with the troops, assess the Battalion’s overall performance, and gain a first-hand understanding of its operational and administrative affairs.
