The newly appointed General Officer Commanding of the 57 Infantry Division, Major General R P S Prasad RWP RSP USP paid an official visit to the 572 Infantry Brigade and the 8th Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment on 12 May 2026.
Upon arrival, the General Officer Commanding was warmly Welcome by the Commander of 572 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier SPCK Senarath RWP RSP, together with the Commanding Officer of 8th Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, Major EAUS Edirisinghe USP psc SLSR. In accordance with military traditions, a ceremonial Guard Turnout was accorded to the General Officer Commanding.
During the visit, the General Officer Commanding attended comprehensive briefings conducted by both the 572 Infantry Brigade and 8th Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, where operational, administrative and training aspects were presented.
Thereafter, General Officer Commanding addressed the troops of under command further 572 Brigade and Under Command Battalion, further emphasising the vital importance of maintaining high standards of training, discipline and professionalism in carrying out military duties and responsibilities. Subsequently, he visited camp premises to observe the existing infrastructure and ongoing projects.
