NEW WEST COMMANDER’S FIRST OFFICIAL VISIT TO KURAGALA MONASTERY TEMPLE

The Commander of Security Forces (West), Major General K Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, paid his first official visit to the Kuragala monastery temple on 20 December 2021 after taking up his new appointment.

As is the case elsewhere, Sri Lanka Army troops have extended their technical skills and manpower for the restoration of this religious place, as directed by General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army.

Accordingly, the Commander of Security Forces (West) had a lengthy discussion with the Chief Incumbent of both Kuragala monastery temple and Nelligala International Buddhist Centre, Ven. Wathukumbure Dharmaratana Thero, on the construction of the temple. After that, the Commander of Security Forces (West) and the Chief Incumbent visited the Kuragala monastery temple to inquire into the current state of construction. Later on, the Commander of Security Forces (West) received the blessing for the new appointment.
