The 9th Sri Lanka National Guard (9 SLNG) proudly organized a blood donation campaign at their battalion headquarters in Heraliyawala, Kurunegala, as a tribute to the brave Sri Lankans who laid down their lives for lasting peace in the motherland. This noble and humanitarian initiative was carried out under the visionary leadership of Commander Security Force (West), Major General UKDDP Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, with the dedicated supervision of General Officer Commanding 57 Infantry Division, Major General KDML Samaradivakara RWP RSP ndc psc. Commander 571 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier HHSPS De Silva RSP USP, and the meticulous coordination of Commanding Officer 9 SLNG, Major TSP Kumara RSP.
Demonstrating a deep sense of duty and compassion, 04 Officers and 76 Other Ranks of the battalion voluntarily donated blood, extending a lifeline to fellow citizens in medical need. Their selfless contribution reflects the enduring spirit of service, sacrifice, and solidarity upheld by the Sri Lanka Army. The program was conducted in collaboration with the blood bank of the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital, ensuring that every donation directly contributes to saving lives and strengthening the national healthcare system.
The campaign commenced at 1030 hrs and concluded successfully at 1400 hrs, marking yet another remarkable act of service to humanity by the 9 SLNG.
