PRESENTING OF A NEWLY CONSTRUCTED HOUSE FOR AN UNDERPRIVILEGED FAMILY IN MULLERIYAWA NORTH GN DIVISION

Troops of the 12 Gajaba Regiment, 2(V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry and under close supervision of Commander 144 Infantry Brigade Colonel K M V Kodituwakku and guidance of 14 Infantry Division under the Security Forces (West) constructed a new house for a underprivileged family for, Mr Welgamage Sudarshana Prabath who is having four children in Mulleriyawa North GN division on 28th December 2021 and collaborated financial patronage of Buddhist society of people’s bank, Dr Madawa Thenuwara and Sponsor donors. This massive task was launched on the conception of General L H S C Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army.

The Commander Security Forces (West) Major General K Liyanage RWP RSP ndu graced the occasion as the Chief Guest together with the General Officer Commanding of 14 Infantry Division Maj Gen A K G K U Gnanarathne ndu psc and the Commander 144 Infantry Brigade Colonel K M V Kodituwakku. In accordance with ancient traditions, the day's Chief Guest and the sponsors unveiled the new house at the auspicious time and handing over the Sannasa with house key, joined oil-lamp lighting and boiling milk rituals, amidst religious observances and in this charity event the opened “ Sisu Udana ” pass books were distributed for each child.

Civil affairs officer of 144 Infantry Brigade, all Commanding officers of 12 Gajaba Regiment and 2(V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry, the Chairman of Peoples Bank head office Mr Sujeewa Rajapaksha, the manager of Peoples’ Bank, Kotikawatta branch Mr and Mrs jayasuriya and all financial sponsors attended at the occasion.
