PROUDLY CELEBRATED 11TH ANNIVERSARY OF SECURITY FORCES HEADQUARTERS (WEST)

Security Forces Headquarters (West) commemorated its 11th anniversary on 15th November 2023 with a series of events at the Security Forces Headquarters (West) premises in Panagoda. In parallel to the 11th anniversary, a Bodhi puja pinkama was organized on 14 November 2023 at the Bodhirajaramaya Temple Panagoda with the participation of the Commander Security Forces (West) Major General H K S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu to invoke blessings for the staff, their families and the fallen war heroes who sacrificed their lives for the motherland.

On the anniversary day, troops from the 6 Battallian, the Gajaba Regiment executed a formal Guard Turnout followed by a Guard of Honour. The troops saluted the Commander Security Forces (West), Major General H K S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu upon his arrival at the location . The West Commander was warmly welcomed by Brigadier K T P De Silva RSP ndu psc, Brigadier General Staff and Brigadier A M R Abeysinghe Brigadier Administration and Quartering at the entrance. After the military customs, the West Commander was invited to pose for a group photograph with all ranks in order to mark the importance of the day.

After a while, the Commander Security Forces (West) Major General H K S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu was invited to add symbolic value to the day by planting a sapling in the SFHQ (West) premises. Subsequently, the West Commander took time off to address the troops on this special day and congratulate the staff to work enthusiastically to achieve the common goal of the organization. After the troop address the West Commander donated 40 number of dry ration packs to the civil staff who are working in SFHQ (West) to uplift their living standard. Following this all the participants were invited to an all-ranks tea party.
