QUICK REACTION TEAM (QRT) TRAINING SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED

In line with the vision of the Commander of the Army, a comprehensive Quick Reaction Team (QRT) training programme was launched under the guidance of the Commander Security Forces (West). The first phase of the programme commenced on 24 November 2025 and was conducted by qualified instructors from the Special Forces Rider Team, ensuring professional and high-standard training delivery.

The training programme, held at the Battalion Headquarters of the 12 SLSR in Panaluwa, aiming at enhancing the operational readiness and rapid response capabilities of 54 QRT members, including 3 officers and 6 women soldiers. Despite the adverse weather conditions experienced over the past few days, the training progressed successfully, demonstrating the dedication and resilience of both participants and instructors.

The closing ceremony took place on 12 December 2025, where Brigadier (GS) SFHQ (West), delivered concluding remarks and acknowledged the efforts of the trainees with the presence of several senior officers of SFHQ (West). Certificates were awarded to all participants and instructors in recognition of their successful completion of the programme and commitment to excellence.

Furthermore, a refresher module was organized to facilitate the trainees in obtaining their Army driving licenses efficiently, thereby strengthening their overall capability as members of the Quick Reaction Teams.
