A group of Army personnel belongs to the 14 (v) Battalion Gemunu Watch of 613 Infantry Brigade of 61 Infantry Division, under the Security Forces (West) assisted in conducting a ‘Shramadana’ campaign by providing manpower in order to clean the Bodhiya and the surrounding of the temple in Godewaththa temple in Galle District on 15 March 2023.
The ‘Shramadana’ campaign has been carried out with the participation of 20 Army personnel under the direction of the Commander Security Forces (West) with the close supervision of the Commander of the 613 Infantry Brigade along with the Commanding Officer of 14 (v) Battalion Gemunu Watch. Further, some civilians in the area have also willingly joined with the army for this noble task.
