A swift and efficient response by Sri Lanka Army troops helped restore normalcy on Gregory Road after a large tree fell across the roadway in front of D.S. Senanayake College, blocking the route from R.G. Senanayake Mawatha to Bauddhaloka Mawatha.
No injuries or property damage were reported. Troops from the 14 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (14 VIR)—including four officers and twenty soldiers—quickly arrived at the scene. They cut and removed the fallen tree, cleared debris, and reopened the road to traffic.
Their prompt action ensured public safety and minimized inconvenience to commuters during the busy period.
