SFHQ (West) troops on the directions of Major General Sathyapriya Liyanage, Commander, Security Forces (West), together with the troops of the Army Buddhist Association, held a full-day ‘Sil’ observance programme at Panagoda Sri Bodhirajarama temple on the Poson Day (27 June). More than 2500 Buddhist devotees attended the event. Moreover, a gram Dansela was conducted in front of the Sri Bodhirajarama temple. Meanwhile, a mobile devotional songs (Bakthi Gee) float on the same day covering Panagoda Army Cantonment area, Godagama and Homagama.
Similarly, on a directive of the Commander, 581 Brigade, Col J D A Gunasekara, troops of 581 Brigade conducted a 'Dansela’ at Sri Dheranandha Maha Viharaya and large gathering exceeding 3400 civilians enjoyed it.
