On 3 December 2025, troops of the 8 Sri Lanka Singha Regiment assisted the public by cleaning drinking wells in the Mulpitigama area in Ruwanwella Divisional Secretariat. This timely requirement was identified and directed by 57 Infantry Division as a part of an ongoing community disaster relief programme aimed at restoring safe water sources for residents affected by recent adverse weather. The initiative helped ensure access to clean drinking water and supported the overall recovery of the community.
