1 SLSR AND 9 SLNG TROOPS RESTORE THE DAMAGED RAILWAY TRACK FOR SAFE TRAIN OPERATIONS

With the Direction and coordination of 57 Infantry Division and 571 Infantry Brigade. A section of the Polgahawela - Ambepussa railway line was damaged by a landslide in the Yaththalgoda area, approximately 300 meters from the 58 km post between Bujjomuwa and Yaththalgoda stations. With the tireless continued efforts 1 Sri Lanka Singha Regiment (1 SLSR), railway track is being renovated steady fast.

While another team of dedicated soldiers from 9 Sri Lanka National Guards (9 SLNG) undertook the renovations of Bujjomuwa culvert on which railway track runs on, also damaged due to soil erosion, located at 270 m away from 61 km post in between Alawwa and Bujjomuwa railway station.

Army troops promptly responded and undertook essential renovation work at affected areas of the railway track. Their tireless efforts would restore the railway line. enabling the safe resumption of train services and ensuring uninterrupted transportation for the public within next few days.
