REGIMENTAL SERGEANT MAJORS GET-TOGETHER AT SECURITY FORCE KILINOCHCHI

A cordial get-together, organized by the Security Forces Headquarter - Killinochchi for 54 Regimental Sergeant Majors (RSM), serving all Divisions, Brigades, Forward Maintenance Area and Units of the Security Force – Kilinochchi area. It was conducted at the Commander’s House garden on 17 January 2018 at 1900 hrs.

TROOPS IN KILINOCHCHI CONDUCTED A SERIES OF SHRAMADANA WORK

Troops of 571 Brigade under command to the 57 Division in Security Force Kilinochchi recently took part in a few social welfare projects on 13 January 2018 at Jayanthinagar, Tiruvaiaru (West), Barathipuram.

One officer and twenty Other Ranks of 7 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment serving under the Malayalapuram based 571 Brigade recently organized a Sharamadana campaign to clean the Meenachchi Amman Kovil premises and the building at Jayanthinagar.

CELEBRATION OF THAI PONGAL FESTIVAL BY 57 DIVISION

Pongal is a harvest festival dedicated to the Sun. It is a four-day festival which according to the Tamil calendar is usually celebrated from 14 to 17 January 2018. Hence, troops of 57 Division organized series of events for celebration of 'Thai Pongal' with the public in Kilinochchi.

3RD BATTALION OF GAJABA REGIMENT CELEBRATES ITS 32ND ANNIVERSARY

Troops of 3rd Battalion of Gajaba Regiment serving under the Security Force Kilinochchi, celebrated its 32nd anniversary on 12 January 2018 in accordance with military formalities and traditions, giving priority to religious observances.

A comprehensive project to plant trees along the B-357 road from Nalankatti to Paranthan was launched by the 66 Infantry Division Pooneryn on 12 January 2018, as an effort taken to support the concept of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General N U M M W Senanayake RWP RSP USP psc, to sustain the environmental protection. KIYOSHI RYU BUDO TRAINING FOR SECURITY FORCE KILINOCHCHI TROOPS

The certificate awarding ceremony of the 1st and 2nd courses, Green and Yellow belt of "Kiyoshi Ryu Budo" was held on 11 January 2018 at Nelum Piyassa. The objectives of the course were to train soldiers for self-defence, act for emergencies and provide situational management training. Major General A Kariyakarawana USP ndc Commander, Security Force Kilinochchi paid visit to 2 Commando Regiment on 10 Jan 2018. SECURITY FORCE KILINOCHCHI TROOPS DISTRIBUTED SCHOOL BOOKS AND ACCESSORIES AMONG THE PRE SCHOOL KIDS

A stock of school accessories, inclusive of exercise books, pens, pencils, etc, distributed among the pre-school kids at Annai Illam pre-school in Kilinochchi, as per the concept of Commander Security Forces - Kilinochchi Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana USP ndc.

160 packet of School Books with essential accessories which worth more than Rs.100,000.00 were offered to the 160 pre school kids. OFFER OF ALMS TO MONKS AT 9TH ANNIVERSARY OF 65 DIVISION

Troops of 65 Division organized on alms giving programme for 51 Buddhist Monks to marked the 9th Anniversary and invoke merits on all fallen War Heroes, which was held on 16 December 2018 as per the guidance of the General Officer Commanding 65 Division Maj Gen Sarath Weerawardhana RSP USP IG.

Rev Thripitakavedhi Thibure Dhammadeva Mahanayaka Thero and Chief Incumbent of Sadagiri Temple Ven Sri Vachchaghana Ghanalokabhidhana Thero conducted the religious rites during the alms-giving. Especially Hindu Tamil and rehabilitated youths participated for this religious event.
