1ST BATTALION GAJABA REGIMENT WON THE SECURITY FORCES CHALLENGE SOCCER TOURNAMENT - 2017
Security Forces - Kilinochchi Challenge Soccer Tournament, organized by the 652 Brigade terminated on 06 March 2017 at the Paravipanchan Public ground - Kilinochchi. \r\n\r\nMajor General Ajith Kariyakarawana USP ndc, Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi graced the occasion as the Chief Guest in the finals of the tournament which was held for both Army and Civil teams in the area. \r\n\r\nThe finals for Army teams were held between the 1st Gajaba Regiment and 10th Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment teams. After close encounter, the 1st Gajaba Regiment won the match with a score of 4 - 0.\r\n\r\nCivil Teams comprised 06 of teams from the area and Poonaryn \"Jolly Boys\" Sports Club and Uthayatharagai Sports Club - Kilinochchi played the finals. However, Kilinochchi Uthayatharagai Sports Club won the match with a score of 2- 0.\r\n\r\nThe Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi and other invitees gave away trophies and certificates to the winners and runners up. General Officer Commanding - 65 Division, Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and Civilians attended the event.
