360 CRICKETERS ISLAND WIDE IN ACTION OVER 5 DAYS IN NORTHERN VENUES BUILDING BRIDGES OF FRIENDSHIP

Security Forces Headquarters - Kilinochchi together with Guna Jaya Sathuta Padanama (Foundation of Goodness) have organized the Murali Harmony Cup Twenty20 Cricket Tournament - 2016 in Kilinochchi in fifth time. The Opening ceremony of Murali Harmony Cup Twenty 20 cricket tournament - 2016 was taken place at Nelum Piyasa auditorium - Kilinochchi on 20 September 2016.\r\n\r\nThe Murali Harmony Cup is a unique tournament conceptualized to develop and encourage school cricketers in Sri Lanka\'s rural areas, especially in the war-affected north and east, as well as promoting community-building, the development of cross-cultural friendships, and the creation of goodwill and harmony within north and south gain a life enriching experience.\r\n\r\nMajor General Amal Karunasekara Commander Security Forces - Kilinochchi, inaugurated the tournament at the Opening Ceremony as the chief guest and emphasized the valuableness of the tournament which will helpful for the reconciliation process in Northern and the mentioned the qualities which are able to gain from the sports.\r\n\r\nTotally sixteen boys\' teams and eight girls\' teams will be taken part in the tournament and it will be held from 21 September 2016 to 25 September 2016. All matches are played at five post - conflict school venues across Northern regions of Mankulam, Jaffna, Kilinochchi and Mullativu. Girls\' teams will be fought at the play ground of Mankulam Maha Vidyalaya. The semi- final matches will be held on 24 September 2016 and Final match will be held on 25 September 2016 at Kilinochchi Central Collage ground.\r\n\r\nFormer Sri Lankan Cricketer Kumar Sangakkara, Kushil Gunasekara, the chairman - Foundation of Goodness, senior military officers, staff of the Foundation of Goodness, the Zonal Director of Education- Kilinochchi, the Principal of Kilinochchi Central Collage and players of the teams also attended to the opening ceremony.\r\n
