As per the concept of Major General Harendra Ranasinghe, and with the guidance of General Officer Commanding 57 Division Major General Priyantha Jayawardana, 57 Infantry Division initiated the number of project to uplift the livelihood of low income families in Divisional area. Hence it was plan to support to implement extra income generate project with the supervision of the Commander 571 Infantry Brigade Brigadier Dammika Welagedara, Commander 572 Infantry Brigade Brigadier Nishantha Muthumala and Commander 573 Infantry Brigade Brigadier Manoj Madurapperuma.
To fulfill the aforesaid requirement Brigades has implement income generation projects such as agriculture, fisheries, Bee keeping and etc. 7th Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry distributed 30 Turkey Berry plants for selected 15 low-income families and distributed 800 winged bean plants for selected 30 low income families in battalion AOR. 9th Battalion of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment distributed 750 Turkey Berry plants (30 plants for each family) for selected 25 low-income families in Karachchi DS division and Oddusudan DS divisions. Moreover, 9th Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment distributed 50g of water melon seeds for selected 15 low income families in Karachchi DS division and Oddusudan DS divisions.
7th Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment organized fingerlings fish releasing pragramme on 29 March 2021 at Dryarukulam tank bank in order to facilitate 22 families consisting 77 members of the fishermen. Meantime, 6th Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment also organized fingerlings fish releasing programme at Wishuwamadu tank bank in order to facilitate 30 families consisting 110 members of the fishermen in the area.
