Troops of the 65 Division under Security Forces Headquarters – Kilinochchi recently celebrated their eight anniversary with several programmes on 15 December 2016 with the guidance of Maj Gen W A S Weerawadena RSP USP IG , GOC 65 Division.\r\n\r\nAs per the directions issued by the Army Headquarters the Task Force 5 was raised on 15 Dec 2008 under Security Force Headquarters (Wanni). Initially the Headquarters – Task Force 5 was established at the Malawi Junior School on 24 Dec 2008. Subsequently, Task Force 5 was upgraded and renamed as 65 Division on 18 Sep 2009 became under command to SF HQ (KLN). Since then eight GOCs commanded the 65 Division up to now.\r\n\r\n8th anniversary celebration programme was included with many events, such as tree plant by GOC, troops address and all rank tea. At the troop address, GOC paid his curtsey to all those who scarified their lives and admire the service of present soldiers for the 65 Division.\r\n
