With the direction from the General Officer Commanding 66 Infantry Division; Major General TJ Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu and with the supervision of the Commander 662 Infantry Brigade Brigadier PR Pthiravithana psc and the Commanding Officer 20 (V) VIR Major SJGAM Subasinghe RWP, a school items distributing programme was conducted on 25 December 2020 at the Church of the Words of Christ, Anavilandankulam, highlighting the true spirits of the Christmas celebrations.
The students of the area were awarded with .39 x packs of school items at their colourful variety show, while a special prize was awarded to a child who achieved higher marks at the grade five scholarship examination. Troops from 20 (V) VIR, Brigade Major of 662 Infantry Brigade, OIC Akkarayankulam police station SI JAN Jayakodi and 60 civilians participated to the event. The programme was conducted adhering to all Covid-19 preventive measures with the prior approval of MOH office, Karachchi.
