ARMY COMMUNITY VACCINATION CENTRE, ESTABLISHED IN KILINOCHCHI

Army troops including the medical staff serving Army Base Hospital Kilinochchi established new Community Vaccination Centre in Kilinochchi and commence administering the first dose of Sinopharm vaccine to civilians from 05 July 2021 onwards, giving a further boost to the ongoing national vaccination project.

Consequent upon a directive of HE the President and instructions of General Shavendra Silva, Head, NOCPCO, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, this arrangement setup by the troops with the close supervision of the Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi Major General Harendra Ranasinghe with in short period of time.

Moreover, Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi had a visit to vaccination centre to observed arrangements in place and how the administration of the vaccine was smoothly done to expedite the process. RDHS Kilinochchi and medical staff of District General Hospital Kilinochchi supported the Army Base Hospital Kilinochchi medical staff on the programme. Commander SF shared a few thoughts with those Army personnel and the general public, awaiting vaccination. Regional Director of Health Services Dr. R.N Sarvanabawan, General Officer Commanding 57 Infantry Division Major General Priyantha Jayawardane and other military and health officials also attended for the visit with adhering all Covid 19 preventive measures.
