CEREMONIOUS HANDING OVER OF DUTIES TO NEW SECURITY FORCE COMMANDER
Security Force Commander Kilinochchi Maj Gen Udaya Perera handed over the duties and responsibility to Maj Gen Sudantha Ranasinghe at a colourful ceremony held at Security Force Headquarters parade ground on 8 January morning in the presence of more than 100 officers and 1000 men.
For the first time in the known history of Sri Lanka Army the handing over of duties was carried out in a military parade where the Security Force (Kilinochchi) flag was handed over to the incoming Commander Maj Gen Sudantha Ranasinghe by the outgoing Commander Maj Gen Udaya Perera symbolizing the formal handing over of duties.
Maj Gen Udaya Perea left Kilinochchi in the evening of 8 January and will resume the duties and responsibilities as the Commander Security Force Jaffna. Delivering his farewell speech Maj Gen Udaya Perera extended his greetings and appreciations for the troops for their unending support, loyal and dedicated service.
