DISTRIBUTION OF ESSENTIAL ITEMS PACKS FOR PREGNANT MOTHERS OF LOW INCOME FAMILIES
Keeping another step forward to provide community assistance and reconciliation among the nations and in order to expect wealthy child birth from rural and low income families pregnant mothers, 66 Division has organized and conducted an event by distributing an essential item packs for the pregnant mothers in Poonaryn area on Friday (23) at Sri Wigneshwara Vidyalaya - Poonaryn.\r\n\r\nBrigadier Duminda Keppetiwalana RSP ndu psc General Officer Commanding - 66 Division attended as the Chief Guest for the event together with Mr. S Krishnendran Divisional Secretary - Poonaryn.25 pregnant mothers were benefitted along their next of kin. During the event significant lecture about on pre - education before admit for the child delivery was conducted by Dr. Robinson from Poonaryn Hospital. \r\n\r\nWorth of items pack was approximately Rs.3000 and it includes Baby Soaps, Code Clips, Bed Jackets, Nappy Sets, Panel Clothes, Cologne Bottles, Powder, Baby Cream, Baby Rubber Sheets, Small Water Basins, Baby Picture Posters in large size, Bathing Clothes, Mosquito Nets, Tea Packets etc.\r\n\r\nAt the end of the event Chief Guest shared his views with participants about future assistance for the community development and participants were highly appreciated and offered heartfelt gratitude on community work led by the military. Special highlight in the event was the ethnic harmony by displaying and emphasizing that there are no barriers for the affection on child by keeping aside the language and ethnicity.\r\n\r\nSenior Officers from 66 Division, religious leaders, medical field and maternity field staff of Poonaryn and Veravil Hospitals, other government administrative representatives and large gathering of civilians were presented for the event.
