DISTRIBUTION OF SCHOLARSHIPS FOR LOW INCOME FAMILIES
As per the concept of Major General K A D A Karunasekara RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, Commander Security Forces Headquarters - Kilinochchi conducted the distribution of financial scholarships programme at Nelum Piyasa on 25 November 2016.Vision was to uplift the educational standard of needy students in Security Forces Headquarters - Kilinochchi area by continuously doing this scholarship programme since 2012.\r\n\r\nSecurity Forces - Kilinochchi together with the Department of Education implemented this financial scholarship programme worth of nearly one million rupees for 277 low income school childrens from 81 schools. \r\n\r\nThey were selected due to financial difficulties and potential early school leavers in Zonal Education areas in Kilinochchi. Total number of scholarships awarded from 2012 to 2015 is 2,782.\r\n\r\nRepresenting the Commander Security Forces - Kilinochchi , Major General WAS Weerawardena RSP USP IG - General Officer Commanding 65 Division participated as the chief guest of the occasion together with Rev. Father Daniel Murthi, Brigadier HDW Kariyawasam USP Lsc - Commander Forward Maintenance Area (Kilinochchi), Brigadier WAVA Sudasinghe USP IG ndc - General Officer Commanding 57 Division , Brigadier RMPJ Rathnayaka RWP RSP USP - Brigadier General Staff Security Forces Headquarters - Kilinochchi, many Senior Officers, Mr. R. Wardeeshwaran - Addl Director Education Northern Province, Ms. Sudarshi Kapukotuwa - Asst Director Education Northern Province, Mr. K. Murugavel - Zonal Director Education Kilinochchi were took part the event.
