DISTRIBUTION OF SCHOOL STATIONERY FOR STUDENTS TO MARK UPCOMING CHRISTMAS DAY
20th Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment organized a donation programme of distributing school stationery among school children in Poonaryn area with the coordination of Christian Youth Society of Colombo Diocese for upcoming Christmas Day. The aim of this charity programme to build reconciliation among the South and North during the peaceful Christmas season and to keep it for future.\r\n \r\nThis programme was held at Shivanagar Christian Church premises on 17 December 2016. Brigadier Duminda Keppetiwalana RSP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding 66 Division graced occasion as the chief guest of the event. Rev. Farther Jude Amladas – Shivanagar Church welcomed the gathering and Rev. Farther Gihan Gonnathilake of Colombo Diocese asked the blessings of god by saying opening prayer. \r\n\r\n125 school stationery packs worth of Rs.200, 000 donated among students from low income families by Chief Guest and other invitees. During the event, all students who gathered at the day, grouped into teams and conducted leadership games and share their life experiences with youth came from the south.\r\n\r\nFinally, Brigadier Duminda Keppetiwalana RSP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding 66 Division shared his views with audience and he really appreciated the event and gave his compliments to the donors and organizers of the event.\r\n
