Troops of the 66 Division serving under Security Force Kilinochchi in cooperative with the ‘Sri Lanka Red Cross Society’, Kilinochchi launched a distribution programme of spectacles among 312 needy civilians in Pooneryn area. The event was organized at KL/Sri Vigneshwara School premises in Pooneryn on 12 August 2018.
The donation programme was sponsored by the ‘Sri Lanka Red Cross Society’, Kilinochchi Branch on an invitation of Brigade Commander, 661 Brigade, Colonel Priyantha Jayawardana. People were offered spectacles after a medical examination by Consultant Ophthalmologist Dr. Nirunwere and his medical team.
Brigade Commander, 661 Brigade, Colonel Priyantha Jayawardana graced the occasion as the Chief Guest along with Executive of Sri Lanka Red Cross Society in Kilinochchi Branch Mr. Krishnaraja, The Secretary of Sri Lanka Red Cross Society in Kilinochchi Branch Mr.Sedhupathi and optician of Kilinochchi Hospital Dr. Nirunwere.
