DONATION OF MEDICAL EQUIPMENTS TO DISTRICT GENERAL HOSPITAL KILINOCHCHI
Commemorating of 7th anniversary of the Security Forces Headquarters - Kilinochchi, donated medical equipments to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at District General Hospital Kilinochchi on 25 June 2016 in order to enhance the facilities at the hospital and to the benefit of general public in Kilinochchi.\r\n\r\nThese urgently required medical equipments were donated by Mr Senaka Rodrigo from Kuliyapitiya, upon a request of the Colonel Ajith Kolambathanthri Commander - 571 Brigade. Major General Amal Karunasekara Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi together with Mr Senaka Rodrigo handed over the medical equipment to the Dr Nishadi Ranasinghe Acting Director of the District General Hospital Kilinochchi. The equipments consist of a two Intensive Care Unit beds and two wheel chairs and total value of medical equipments approx Rs 8.5 lakhs.\r\n\r\nSpeaking on the occasion, Dr Nishadi Ranasinghe conveyed his sincere thanks appreciation to Major General Amal Karunasekara Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi, Brigadier Anura Sudasinghe General Officer Commanding - 57 Division, Colonel Ajith Kolambathanthri Commander - 571 Brigade and Mr Senaka Rodrigo, for their timely initiative in obtaining the medical equipments. Further she stated that this donation is particularly useful as it will enable the treatment of emergency patients at the hospital itself, as presently such patients had to be transported to more distance and better equipped facilities at considerable risk to their lives.
