EDUCATIONAL VISIT TO SECURITY FORCES HEADQUARTERS (KILINOCHCHI) FOR THE STUDENT OFFICERS OF CIJW JCC NO 16

Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare - Junior Command Course No 16, consisted with 22 local Officers and 3 Foreign Officers (Bangladesh, Nepal) has visited Security Force (Kilinochchi) as a study tour on 08 and 09 July 2016 with the intention of getting the knowledge on handling of post conflict scenario by Armed forces on formation level and tactical level.\r\n\r\nAs per the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Kilinochchi) Major General K A D A Karunasekara RSP VSV USP ndu psc, the welcome reception was hosted by Brigadier S A de C Dasanayake USP - Brigadier Admin & Quartering Security Forces Headquarters (Kilinochchi) at the Office on the day of arrival. The presentation on handling of post war scenario and the activities which are being conducted by the Army to up lift the living standard of the Kilinochchi people, was conducted by Colonel P S K Sanjeewa RWP RSP USP - Colonel General Staff Security Forces Headquarters (Kilinochchi) followed by a healthy question and answering session. \r\n\r\nDuring the site visit the students Officers were made awareness about the Military Aid to Civil Community (MACC) at the Harmony Centre Kilinochchi as one of the major step took by the Security Forces Kilinochchi in parallel to 5R concept and Commander 571 Brigade conducted the presentation with regard to function of the Harmony Centre and it\'s activities. Each projects were briefed by respective officers of battalions. Further they visited the Gamini Kularathne\'s Memorial Monument at Elephant Pass and Victory Monument at Kilinochchi with the briefing pertaining to concept and recalling the War Heroes activities of Sri Lanka Armed Forces. Thereafter the students Officers visited Headquarter 65 Division and witness the presentation in divisional level CIMIC Activities subjected to the 5R concept. \r\n \r\nOn the second day, the students Officers visited 20th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry and Commanding Officer briefed the handling of post war scenario in tactical level and finally their challenges followed by the site visit in area of responsibility of 66 Division.
