FORMATIONS AND BATTALIONS IN SECURITY FORCES KILINOCHCHI COMMEMORATE THE VESAK DAY
The day of the full moon of May is called as “ Vesak” and on the Vesak Day, Buddhists around the world celebrate and reflect on the birth of Lord Buddha, his enlightenment and Parinirvana. 66 Division and it’s under command sub headquarters, 574 Brigade and it’s under command battalions commemorate the Vesak Day by organizing several religious programme with the participation of the civil community in Kilinochchi.\r\n\r\nDisplaying ornate Vesak Lanterns on the Vesak Day at Poonaryn has been organized by 66 Division. Further religious film “ Sri Daladagamanaya ” were displayed to gathering at Poonaryn.\r\nA delightful pageant and bodhi pooja was held at Mankulam Sugatha Viharaya on 21 May 2016 and also held a “ Kiripidu Offering Ceremony ” celebrating the enlightenment of Lord Buddha on 22 May 2016.All these events had been organized by 574 Brigade.\r\n\r\nMoreover, celebrating arms giving, 574 Brigade organized a “ Vesak Rice Dansala” that was benefited for pilgrims and people from respective area. Brigadier Aruna Sudasinghe General Officer Commanding – 57 Division, Colonel Chandana Somaweera, Commander – 574 Brigade, Senior Officers and Other Ranks graced the occasion devotedly.\r\n
