GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING OF 66 INFANTRY DIVISION MADE OFFICIAL VISIT TO 661 BRIGADE AND UNDER COMMAND BATTALIONS

Major General Ajith Dissanayake made his first official visit to 661 Infantry Brigade and under command Battalions of 24 VIR and 5 (V) MIR after assuming duties as the General Officer Commanding of 66 Infantry Division on 03 February 2021.

The GOC was warmly welcomed by Brigadier Santha Hewage, the Commander of the 661 Brigade on arrival at the Brigade Headquarters with the honour of ceremonial guard turn out. After that, the GOC ceremonially opened the newly constructed RO plant at the camp premises of Brigade Headquarters. Subsequently, the Brigade Commander and respective COs comprehensively briefed the GOC on deployment, roles, tasks and routine operations in the AOR.

Afterwards, according to the agenda the GOC planted a sapling to symbolize the visit at the 661 Brigade premises. After the troops address, he left for the field visit to the under command Battalions. The event culminated after signing the visitors’ book.
