THE GOC 57 DIV INTRODUCED A NEW CONCEPT “LEARNING THROUGH PRACTICES” DURING HIS OFFICIAL VISITS TO THE BRIGADES AND BATTALIONS UNDER COMMAND

After assuming duties as the General Officer Commanding 57 Division, Major General DGS Senarath Yapa, RWP RSP ndu, made his first official visit to the Brigades and Battalions under his command, between the 3rd and 7th of June 2020.

The GOC was in attendance for the situational briefings by respective Brigade Commanders and Battalion Commanders and addressed the troops in respective locations. In addition, a debriefing on area domination was also presented by the patrol commanders. These meetings were organized according to the new concept, Learning through Practice, introduced by the GOC, as a first of series of programs planned, to reveal the innovative approaches that will enable the multi talented soldiers in their effective engagement in the current security context. The GOC further explained and emphasized the applicability and validity of the LTP process. This occasion was a value added opportunity to the soldiers due to its focus also on enhancing communications and managerial skills needed to deal with variety of situations. This will be an ongoing program with the objective of producing skilled and experience soldiers who has the capacities to handle situations in a rapidly changing environment.
