GRANDEUR ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF KANAKAMBIKAL AMBAL TEMPLE -IRANAMADU
Kanakambikal Ambal Hindu Temple of Iranamadu is a historic and ancient temple located in Kilinochchi District. The annual grandeur festival of the Kanakambikal Ambal Hindu Temple was held for more than a week at the temple premises that flocked thousands of devotees from the Northern Part of Sri Lanka. Many Hindu religious and cultural events were included in the festival such as ‘water cutting’ ceremony etc.\r\n\r\nMajor General Amal Karunasekara, Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi attended the festival accepting the invitation of Chief priest of Temple on 21 Apr 2016 and paid his homage to the Gods and was blessed. Meanwhile, the chief priest of the temple presented the first CD that includes Hindu Religious prays and Sanskrit slokas that produced to be aimed collecting funds for the development of temple from the religious devotees.\r\n
