KILINOCHCHI COMMANDER VISITS 661 INFANTRY BRIGADE

The Commander, Security Forces Kilinochchi, Major General Harendra Ranasinghe first official visit to 661 Brigade and its under command Battalions took place on 29 March 2021.

The visiting Commander was honoured in a Guard Turnout at 661 Infantry Brigade Headquarters on arrival and invited to plant a sapling at the Brigade premises by the 661 Brigade Commander, Brigadier Shantha Hewage. Thereafter a comprehensive briefing on role & tasks of Brigade and Battalions was conducted by the Brigade Commander and COs of under command units respectively. Thereafter, he visited the Battalions of 24 VIR and 5 (V) MIR. During the visits Commander SF (KLN) briefed by the respective Battalion Intelligence Officers about their sector responsibilities and intelligence capacities and capabilities in depth. In each formation, Commander Security Force interacts with the Battalions Senior and Junior NCOs with regards to present duties. Meantime he visited Comma point, Sangupiddy Road block, Radar point Pallikuda and Battalion Training School Arasapurakulam as well.

General Officer commanding of the 66 Division, Senior Staff Officers of the SFHQ-Kilinochchi and 66 Division and Battalion Commanders were present during the Commander’s visits.
