KILINOCHCHI TROOPS CONTINUED THEIR SUPPORT TO FLOOD VICTIMS
On the direction of Major General KADA Karunasekera RSP VSV USP ndu psc, Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi,Troops has countinued their assistance for local flood victims due to heavy rains in Kilinochchi area.\r\n\r\nDue to prevailing situation, Mandagalaru bridge which is located between Jaffna and Mannar road (A-32) was inundated and it was disrupted to the routine transport activates. Therefore, Troops from Army, Navy and Police were liaised with Fishers Society - Pallikudha and helped the civilians to cross the bridge by using boats.\r\n\r\nNethilaru bridge which is located between Dharmapuram and Visuamadu (A-35) was inundated and troops belong to 14 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) Battalion managed to hold the bridge, by using sand bags. \r\n\r\nThe Chief Coordinating Civil Affairs officer - Security Forces Headquarter (Kilinochchi) has distributed lunch packs among the flood affected families at Ambalnagar on 17 May 2016. Troops belong to 16 (v) Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) also distributed meals for flood effected families at Marathanagar on 18 May 2016. In addition to that all assistance were given to displaced personnel at Paranthankudiiruppu, Nadanpudiiruppu and Umayalapuram. \r\n
