To celebrate the world environmental day, Kilinochchi troops organized an awareness programme for students in Kilinochchi coordinate with central environmental authority and the eco friendly volunteers, at Kilinochchi central college on 05 June 2018.
30 members of eco friendly volunteers participated for this event and initially they conduct a lecture session for students on upcoming world environmental issues and how to take actions to avoid those issues. More than 250 students and teachers participated for this programme.
Further, they conducted a walk with the students by keeping boards and banners from Kilinochchi central college to Kilinochchi Town.
Meanwhile, troops of Kilinochchi conducted several shramadana campaigns to mark the day and more than 300 troops participated for cleaning both sides of the road and Kilinochchi town area.
