MILITARY TROOPS ASSISTED TO FLOOD AFFECTED CIVILIANS IN KRISHNAPURAM
As per the guidance and direction of Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi Major General Amal Karunasekera RSP VSV USP ndu psc, military troops for all time are standing by to assist flood affected civilians in the area of responsibility. \r\n\r\nOn 01 December 2016, Troops from the 9th Battalion of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, assisted to civilians in Krishnapuram whereas renovating a culvert on the road from Bharathipuram to Vinayagapuram. The said culvert located 100m away from AIPT school and due to heavy weather, soil around the culvert has erosion and has broken down even as hampering transportation along the road on 01 December 2016. Troops immediately deployed to the location and renovate the culvert by using sand bags.
